What are the seasonal fruits and vegetables in Singapore

28 January 2026

Singapore, located in the tropical zone, does not have true seasons like in Europe. Here, fruits and vegetables tend to follow the monsoon periods, and many come from neighboring countries like Malaysia or Indonesia. For French expatriates, understanding this particular rhythm allows them to better choose their products, enjoy optimal freshness, and discover new flavors.

From December to March (Northeast Monsoon), it is the season for citrus fruits, cabbage, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, and lettuce. You can also find many imported strawberries, which are more affordable during this period.

From April to June, many emblematic tropical fruits arrive: mangoes, pineapples, papayas, bananas, melons, and coconuts. The markets are particularly well stocked, and prices are more attractive.

From July to September, it is the season for durian, which is very famous in Singapore, accompanied by rambutan, longan, and mangosteen. On the vegetable side, you can find green beans, eggplant, okra, cucumber, and local squash.

From October to November, the transition towards the monsoon brings good harvests of carrots, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, peppers, and fresh herbs. Some tropical fruits remain available almost all year round, such as bananas or pineapples.

Eating seasonally in Singapore means discovering a range of tropical flavors, enjoying better nutritional quality, and fully immersing yourself in the local way of life. A delicious way to experience your expatriation.
